11.103

大方萬餘人。小方六千人。訛言蒼天死黃天當立。歲在甲子天下大吉。以白土書京邑寺門。皆作甲子字。中平元年三月五日。內外俱起。皆著道士黃服黃巾。或殺人祠天。于時賊徒數十萬眾。初起頴川作亂天下。並為皇甫嵩討滅。

A Great Fang had over ten thousand men; a Small Fang had six thousand men. They spread the fabricated slogan: 'The Azure Heaven has perished; the Yellow Heaven shall be established. When the year is in Jiazi, there will be great fortune under Heaven.' With white earth they wrote upon the gates of the offices in the capital cities, everywhere making the characters 'Jiazi'. On the fifth day of the third month in the first year of Zhongping, they rose simultaneously from within and without, all wearing the yellow robes and yellow turbans of Daoists; some killed people to sacrifice to Heaven. At that time the bandit hordes numbered several hundred thousand, initially rising in Yingchuan to throw the realm into turmoil, and all were suppressed and destroyed by Huangfu Song.'
