荊州大明寺檀優填王像者。梁武帝以天監元年夢見檀像入國。乃詔募得八十人。往天竺。至天監十年方還。及帝崩元帝於江陵即位。遣迎至荊都。後靜陵側立寺。因以安之。

Regarding the sandalwood image of King Udayana at Daming Temple in Jingzhou: in the first year of the Tianjian reign era, Emperor Wu of the Liang dreamed of a sandalwood image entering the state. He then issued an edict recruiting eighty men to go to India; they did not return until the tenth year of the Tianjian era. When the emperor died, Emperor Yuan ascended the throne in Jiangling and dispatched envoys to welcome it to the Jing capital. Later, a temple was erected beside the Jing Tomb, and it was accordingly enshrined there.
