During the Xianqing reign period in Fuzhou, an image from Tanzhou that had been carried in procession moved on its own to a spot twenty li east of the prefecture. In the mountains along the way, two footprints appeared, each three feet long and over five hundred li apart. At first, no one knew where it had come from. Someone searching the mountain saw this strange wonder and announced it far and wide; they attempted to move it to the temple, but it would not budge. The prefectural governor and subordinate officials, suffering from a severe drought, went on foot to where the image stood and petitioned for it to return to the prefectural temple. Three men then lifted it and brought it to the prefecture. Clouds spread following their steps, and that very night rain poured down heavily, yielding a prosperous harvest. It remains today in Fuzhou.
