手勅省啟。覽所上菩提樹頌。捃採致佳辭味清淨。仰讚法王稱歎道樹。意思口說乃至手書。極得三業之善。但所言國美皆非事。實不無綺語過也。越勅。

Imperial handwritten decree: 'We have examined the memorial and perused the presented Eulogy on the Bodhi Tree. The gathering [of allusions] is extremely fine, and the flavor of the words is pure and clear. Looking up in praise of the Dharma King and eulogizing the tree of the Way, in thought, speech, and even handwriting, you have thoroughly attained the good of the three karmas. However, what is said of the nation's beauty does not match the actual facts; it is not entirely free of the fault of embellishing speech. This completes the decree.'
