Now, the Ultimate Awakening is mysterious and still, fundamentally severed from sound and speech; wondrous contemplation is open and unobstructed, firmly setting aside fish-traps and images. Although phenomena are severed from the hundred wrongs, whenever someone approaches, it responds; because principle is free of the four propositions, there is no sentiment it does not illuminate. The Emperor's Dao illuminates prior to triggers, his thought transcends beyond the bond. Concentrating his spirit at the Fen River, his mind disengages from the realm of the world; bending his path at the Mound of Xuan, his body toils within the realm. This is truly the descent of the Dharma-patience's traces, manifesting in the region of Jambudvīpa; the great provisional means abiding in the stages, condescending to respond to the Sahā realm. Thus he wishes to wash and uplift the myriad beings, delivering and freeing the multitudes; washing in the pure water of the jewelled pool, taking shade under the high branches of the Bodhi tree. The benevolence of subduing and embracing reaches the utmost as conditions are met; the virtue of bitter words and gentle speech proclaims forth as sentiments are moved. Though used daily without being known, its benefits are boundless. The assembly, together with increasing sincerity, on behalf of the Most Venerable, bows the five limbs and takes refuge, and so forth.
