17.17

秦州於靜念寺起塔。先是寺僧夢群仙降集以赤繩量地鐵橛釘記之。及定塔基。正當其所。再有瑞雲來覆舍利。是時十月雪下。而近寺草木悉皆開華。舍利將入函。神光遠照。空內又有讚歎之聲。

In Qinzhou, a stupa was erected at Jingnian Temple. Prior to this, a temple monk dreamt that a host of immortals descended, measured the ground with a red cord, and marked it by driving iron stakes. When the stupa foundation was determined, it was precisely at that spot. Twice, auspicious clouds came to cover the relics. At that time, it was snowing in the tenth month, yet the plants and trees near the temple all blossomed with flowers. When the relics were about to enter the reliquary, a divine light shone far and wide, and voices of praise were heard from the sky.
