18.80

問曰。由教而信而無入照之分。則是闇信聖人。若闇信聖人理不關心。政可無非聖之尤。何由有日進之功。

I ask: If proceeding from the teaching to faith still has no part in entering into illumination, then this is blindly believing in the sage. If one blindly believes in the sage and principle does not touch the mind, it can only prevent the fault of slandering the sage; whence would there be the merit of daily advance?
