18.81

論曰。暫者假也。真者常也。假知無常。常知無假。又曰。假知累伏。理暫為用用暫在理。不恒其知。

The treatise says: 'The provisional is the expedient; the real is the constant. Provisional knowledge is impermanent; constant knowledge is without expediency.' It also says: 'Provisional knowledge is due to defilements being subdued; principle is temporarily put to function, and function is temporarily in accord with principle, but its knowing is not permanent.'
