讚曰。威衛之流。議雖通塞。以人廢道。誠未為得。司列等狀。抑釋從儒。拜傷君父。詎曰忠謀。質議遒華。敷陳簡要。天人叶允。爰垂璽誥。恭承明命。式抃且歌。顧瞻玄籍。有累如何。法俗疇咨。咸申啟表。披瀝丹欵。未紆黃道。進退惟谷。投措靡由。仰悕神禹。疏茲法流。

The encomium says: / Although the arguments of the Court of Imperial Insignia and its peers combined the adaptable and the rigid, / To abandon the Way on account of human sentiment was truly not correct. / The memorials of the Ministry of Personnel and others suppressed the Buddhist in favor of the Confucian; / If bowing harms rulers and parents, how could that be called loyal counsel? / The refined discourse was vigorous and splendid, / Its presentation concise and essential. / Heaven and humanity were in mutual accord, / And thereupon the imperial seals and edicts were issued. / Reverently receiving the luminous decree, / They clapped hands and sang. / Looking back upon the profound texts, / How could they bear to incur harm? / Inquiring of both the clergy and the laity, / All presented their memorials. / Pouring out their sincere devotion, / It could not turn the Emperor's celestial path. / Advancing or retreating, they were cornered in a valley; / There was nowhere to turn. / Gazing up, they yearn for the divine Yu / To dredge this stream of the Dharma.
