6.44

君父。詎曰忠謀。質議遒華。敷陳簡要。天人叶允。爰垂璽誥。恭承　明命。式抃且歌顧瞻玄籍有累如何。法俗疇咨。咸申啟表。披瀝丹欵。未紆黃道。進退惟谷。投措靡由。仰悕神禹。疏茲法流。

Ruler and father; / How can it be called loyal counsel? / The inquiring deliberation was vigorous and elegant, / Stating the arguments concisely and essentially. / Heaven and humankind consented; / Thereupon the imperial decree was handed down. / Reverently receiving the luminous command, / We clapped our hands and sang; / Yet looking back at the dark scriptures, / What could be done about the encumbrance? / Clergy and laity consulted one another, / All presenting petitions and memorials. / Laying bare our sincere hearts, / It had not yet curved the yellow path. / In advance and retreat there was only distress; / There was nowhere to turn. / Gazing up, we yearn for the Divine Yu / To dredge this stream of the Dharma.
