問若爾眾僧云何開穢門。答實自不應得開。但貪欲情深。所以如此。

[The Emperor] asked: "If so, why does the Saṅgha open the gate of defilement?" [Fachong] replied: "Truly it ought not to be opened, but sensual desire is deep; therefore it is like this."
