制又問法超法師。向答是文外意。若依律文作若為判。奉答。常日解義只作向者所說。
The imperial inquiry again asked Dharma Master Fachao: 'The previous reply was the meaning beyond the text. If one relies on the vinaya text itself, how do you judge it?' He respectfully replied: 'In regular explanations of the meaning, I only speak as stated previously.'
