All sentient beings in the ten directions, / in whatever slight good deeds they perform— / benevolence, filial piety, humility, and reverence, / loving-kindness, gentleness, and the like, / loyalty, uprightness, practice of propriety and wisdom, / pitying and succouring the orphaned and destitute— / such worldly good deeds / are all dedicated toward the Buddha path. / All non-Buddhists, / in their various arduous and bitter austerities: / burning their bodies with the five fires, / casting themselves from cliffs, throwing themselves into water or fire, / binding themselves backwards, smearing themselves with ashes, and the like, / with their countless false views— / I now dedicate all of them, / so that all alike return to the path of true enlightenment. / All men of pure faith, / taking refuge, keeping the precepts, and practicing the ten good deeds, / and even all women, / who are likewise capable of cultivating merit, / and who can also skillfully preach the Dharma, / unlocking and transforming into manifold wondrous merits— / I turn this merit to bestow upon living beings, / so that together we attain the unsurpassed path. / All assemblies of disciples, / who understand upon hearing the sound [of the teachings], / becoming bhikṣus upon the call of "Come, good [monk]," / up to the fruitions of the four paths, / with expedients and initial contemplation, / and reflections upon suffering, emptiness, and impermanence— / this too I turn to bestow upon living beings, / so that together we head toward the unsurpassed path. / All pratyekabuddhas in the ten directions, / who naturally become solitary realizers, / whose deep awakening occurs in other world systems, / clearly understanding the dharma of conditioned arising, / manifesting or hiding to transform sentient beings, / dwelling alone and delighting in virtuous stillness— / all these together / are dedicated entirely toward the Buddha path. / All bodhisattvas in the ten directions, / who read and recite the sūtras and teachings, / those entering samādhi and emerging from samādhi, / encouraging the practice of all good deeds: / such threefold good actions / are the root of all virtues, / and I also turn them to bestow upon living beings, / directing them toward the unsurpassed path. / All wholesome things, / up to the fruits of the worthy and the noble: / if their understanding of emptiness is not yet exhaustive, / and existence and nonexistence are not both extinguished, / may all these, together with everyone, / enter the truly wondrous realm. / If one turns the mind that grasps at signs / entirely toward the path of liberation, / such bodhisattvas / I now urge to practice dedication; / raising this unattached mind, / therefore I bow my head in reverence.
