27.63

經云。見人之過口不得言。己身有惡則應發露。書云。聞人之過如聞父母之名。耳可得聞口不得言。又云。君子顯其過。

A sūtra says: 'Seeing the faults of others, the mouth must not speak of them; having evil within oneself, one should expose it.' The [Confucian] books say: 'Hearing the faults of others is like hearing the names of one's parents: the ear may hear them, but the mouth must not speak them.' They also say: 'The gentleman reveals his faults.'
