The mental consciousness grasps at conditions, its sins piling up like mountains. Perilous as dreams and illusions, it is like a monkey. Hanging a mirror in the lofty hall, it is difficult to quiet for even a single thought; rolling a pill on a tightrope, a hundred thoughts race ahead first. Coming to the twenty-five states of existence, they swirl without ceasing; the ninety-eight dormant defilements gallop on endlessly. Thus extinguishing the mind and destroying wisdom, one's practice stands superior in the three vehicles; with dhyāna like wind and numinous drink, one's path is lofty in the six perfections. Now we vow to sever this mind organ and completely dispel these burdens; the mind shall be tranquil and thoroughly illuminate the unborn. May all sins be completely extinguished in the worldly gate, and the different paths of the three realms return to the realm of truth. Repentance having been completed, with sincere hearts we pay homage.
