5.28

下章云。道之為物惟怳與忽。忽兮怳兮其中有象。怳兮忽兮其中有物。此二章或言無物。或言有物。先有所不宜者也。

A subsequent chapter says: 'As for the Way's nature as an entity, it is merely vague and elusive. Elusive and vague, yet within it there is an image; vague and elusive, yet within it there is an entity.' These two chapters: one says there is no entity, and the other says there is an entity. There is an inconsistency from the outset.
