執古之道以御今之有。上章執者失之為者敗之。而復云執古之道以御今之有。或執或否。得無陷矛盾之論乎。
'Grasp the Way of antiquity to govern the existents of today.' The preceding chapter says: 'He who grasps it loses it; he who acts upon it ruins it.' Yet it says again: 'Grasp the Way of antiquity to govern the existents of today.' Sometimes grasping, sometimes not—does this not fall into a contradictory thesis?
