9.17

臣笑曰。三天正法經云。天光未朗蔚積未澄。七千餘劫玄景始分。九氣存焉。一氣相去九萬九千九百九十里。青氣高澄濁混下降。而九天真王元始天王生於九氣之中。氣結而形焉。便有九真之帝。皆九天清氣凝成九宇之位。三元夫人從氣而生在洞房宮玉童玉女各三千而侍。以天為父以氣為母。生於三元之君。

Your servant laughs, saying: The Santian zhengfa jing says: 'When the light of heaven was not yet brilliant and the dense accumulation not yet clarified, through seven-thousand-odd kalpas the dark luminescence first divided. The nine qi were present there, each qi separated from the next by 99,990 li. The azure qi ascended and clarified, while the turbid and blended qi descended. And the Heavenly King of the Nine Heavens' Authenticity and the Heavenly King of the Primordial Beginning were born within the nine qi. The qi condensed and took form, and then there were the sovereigns of the nine authenticities, all of which were the stations of the nine universes congealed from the clear qi of the nine heavens. The Ladies of the Three Primes were born from the qi in the Dongfang Palace, with three thousand jade boys and three thousand jade maidens attending on each. Taking Heaven as father and qi as mother, they gave birth to the Lords of the Three Primes.'
