The Dharma-body has no form; / the permanently abiding is not a shape. / Emptiness of principle responds to conditions; / the extinction of wisdom acts as the spirit. / At the limit of stillness, a sound resounds; / the great night opens the dark. / Vast is the distant longevity, / neither measured by years nor by age. / Sentient beings love carved adornments; / humans value precious ornaments. / In moderation, desires are stirred; / when feelings are fulfilled, entanglements cease. / Utmost is the deep Sage; / flowing benevolence stirs compassion. / Complying with that worldly mind, / he accomplishes these vows and power. / Oh, behold that Pure Land: / it is both magnificent and adorned! / Jade roads of varied colors, / groves and ponds radiant and bright. / No womb, no pregnancy: / one transforms from other lands. / Entrusting rebirth therein, / in purple calyxes and blue chambers. / Looking back toward the land of Peaceful Nourishment, / rising thoughts journey afar. / Though the path of retribution is long, / from the mind it is but a foot away. / Where can hidden sincerity be lodged? / Carving the spirit manifests the trace: / resembling the Honoured Countenance, / painted in gold, inscribed in stone. / Following the helm upon jade sands, / now coming, now going; / crystalline precious trees / send forth sounds with the wind. / May I journey to that realm, / in the morning yearning and thinking of it! / The seven treasures are not what I admire; / the three clearances are what I revere.
