4.30

維唐龍朔元年京師西華觀道士朝散大夫郭行真永所惟。釋尊弘化慈誘遍於人天。李老垂則述作開於赤縣。故使在身在國不免生死之流。離惱離著超於空有之域。所以迴心歸向。奉敬無遺。造佛書經。晨昏禮謁。當願善無不在常。志篤於真乘。道無不通。故莫滯於凡識。統諸來學。幸顧斯言金銅佛五軀。十一面觀音像二軀。并諸大乘經。

In the first year of the Longshuo era of the Great Tang, Guo Xingzhen, Daoist priest of Xihua Abbey in the capital and Court Gentleman for Miscellaneous Duties, perpetually reflects: The Śākya Honored One broadens transformation, his compassionate enticement pervading humans and devas. Laozi of the Li clan left behind guidelines, his writings opening throughout the Red County. Therefore, being in the body and in the state, one cannot escape the flow of birth and death; departing from afflictions and attachments, one transcends the realm of emptiness and existence. Hence I turn my mind in refuge, showing reverence without omission, making Buddha images and copying scriptures, bowing in worship day and night. May goodness ever be present and my resolve be firm in the True Vehicle; may the Dao be unimpeded, so that I am not stuck in mundane consciousness. To all future scholars: please heed these words. Five gilt-bronze Buddha images, two Eleven-faced Avalokiteśvara images, together with various Mahāyāna scriptures.
