帝共大臣并文武官數百人與出家者剃頭。日日設供夜夜然燈。作種種伎樂。比至正月三十日。法服瓶鉢悉皆施訖。即立十寺。城外七寺。城內三寺。七寺安僧。三寺安尼。漢之佛法從此興焉。

the Emperor, together with his chief ministers and several hundred civil and military officials, shaved the heads of those who were renouncing the household. Day after day they provided offerings, night after night they lit lamps, and performed various kinds of music. By the thirtieth day of the first month, the donation of Dharma robes, water jars, and alms bowls was complete. Thereupon they established ten monasteries: seven monasteries outside the city, and three monasteries inside the city. The seven monasteries housed monks, and the three monasteries housed nuns. From this time onward, the Buddha's Dharma flourished in the Han.
