姜斌曰。孔子聖人不言如志。何假卜乎　法師曰。唯佛是聖人之法王四生上首。遠視一切眾生前後二際吉凶終始。不假卜觀視若掌中。自餘聖人雖曉未然之理。必藉蓍龜以通靈卦也　爾時明帝即遣中尚書又宣勅。道士姜斌論無宗旨。復云。開天經言老子說者。問姜斌。此開天經何處得來。是誰孰與。姜斌對曰。臣亡師道士張祥邊得。

Jiang Bin said, "Confucius was a sage; does he not say that words accord with the intention? Why would he rely on divination?" The Dharma Master said, "Only the Buddha is the Dharma King among sages and the foremost of the four types of birth. Looking from afar upon all sentient beings across both the past and future limits, their good and bad fortune, beginnings and ends, he does not rely on divination, beholding them as if in the palm of his hand. Other sages, though they understand principles of what has not yet occurred, must rely on the yarrow stalks and tortoise shells to divine the spiritual hexagrams." At that time, Emperor Ming dispatched the palace secretariat to proclaim the imperial edict again: "The Daoist master Jiang Bin's arguments lack any central tenet. Furthermore, he says that the Kaitian jing was spoken by Laozi." He questioned Jiang Bin: "Where did this Kaitian jing come from? Who gave it to you?" Jiang Bin replied, "I obtained it from my late master, the Daoist master Zhang Xiang."
