十八宋元嘉十二年。留元之東陽長山人。家以種芋為業。每燒田墌輒有一處叢草不然。經久怪之。不復墾伐。後試薄掘。得銅坐像高三寸許。尋檢其地。舊非邦邑。莫測何來云云。

Eighteenth, in the twelfth year of the Yuanjia reign era of the Song, Liu Yuanzhi of Changshan in Dongyang had a household that made a living growing taro. Every time they burned the fields, there was always one patch of clustered grass that would not burn. After a long time, he found it strange and no longer cleared or felled it. Later, he tried digging lightly, and obtained a seated bronze image about three inches high. Looking into the land, it had not formerly been a town or hamlet; no one could fathom where it came from, and so forth.
