二十宋元嘉十四年。孫彥曾家世奉佛。妾王惠稱。少而信向。年大彌篤。誦法花經。輒見浦中有雜色光。使人掘深二尺。得金像連光趺。高二尺一寸。趺銘云。建武六年歲在庚子。瓦官寺道人法新僧行所造。即加磨瑩之。

20. In the fourteenth year of Yuanjia of the Song (437 CE), the family of Sun Yanzeng had revered the Buddha for generations. His concubine, Wang Huicheng, had possessed faith from an early age, which grew ever more earnest with age. While chanting the Lotus Sūtra, she would often see multicolored light in the bay. She had people dig two feet deep, and they obtained a golden image together with its halo and pedestal, two feet one inch in height. The pedestal inscription said: 'Made in the sixth year of Jianwu, the year being gengzi (304 CE), by the monks Faxin and Sengxing of Waguan Temple.' They then polished and burnished it.
