宋元嘉十四年。孫彥曾家世奉佛。妾王慧稱少而信向。年大彌篤。誦法華經。輒見浦中有雜色光使人掘。深二尺得金像。連光趺高二尺一寸。趺銘云。建武六年歲在庚子。官寺道人法新僧行所造。即加磨鎣云。

In the fourteenth year of the Yuanjia reign of the Song, Sun Yanceng's family had venerated the Buddha for generations. His concubine, Wang Huicheng, had faith from her youth, which grew all the more earnest as she aged. While reciting the Lotus Sutra, she repeatedly saw multicolored light in the inlet; she sent someone to dig, and at a depth of two feet they obtained a gold image, two feet and one inch high including its halo and pedestal. The inscription on the pedestal read: 'Made in the sixth year of the Jianwu reign, the year being Gengzi, by Faxin and Sengxing, monks of the Official Temple.' It was immediately polished and burnished.
