In the ninth year of the Yuanjia era of the Song dynasty, Zhang Xuyuan's family in Xunyang held an eightfold retreat, attended by several tens of monastics and laypeople. Before the image, atop the flowers, there appeared to be ice and snow; upon inspection, several tens of śarīra were obtained. They immediately floated them in water, and the bright flames were continuous with one another. Later they were lost. Several tens of days later, opening a cabinet, they looked again and found a tooth; inside a casket, wrapped in white cotton cloth, were ten śarīra, their brilliant flames reaching to heaven. People from various places all came to request them.
