又問。坊州顯際寺山出古像者。何代所立。答云。像是秦穆公所造。像出是周穆王造寺處也。佛去世後。育王第四女又造像塔。於此供養。于時此寺有一三果人住中。秦相由余所奉敬。往者迦葉佛時。亦於此立寺。是彼沙彌顯際造也。仍其本名。以為寺額。

I asked again: "In what era was the ancient image erected that emerged from the mountain at Xianji Temple in Fangzhou?" He replied: "The image was made by Duke Mu of Qin. The place where the image emerged is where King Mu of Zhou built a temple. After the Buddha passed away, the fourth daughter of King Aśoka also made an image and a stupa, making offerings there. At that time, an attainment-holder of the third fruit resided in this temple, whom the Qin prime minister Youyu revered. Formerly, during the time of Kāśyapa Buddha, a temple was also established here; it was built by that novice named Xianji. Following its original name, it was made the temple's plaque."
