14.56

又問邡州顯際寺山出石像者何代所立。答曰。像是秦穆公所造。像元出處是周穆王造寺處也。佛去世後。育王第四女造。又造像塔於此供養。于時此寺有一二三果人住中。秦相由余常所奉敬。往者迦葉佛時。亦於此立寺。是彼沙彌顯際造也。仍將本名以顯寺額。

He also asked: "In which era was the stone image that emerged from the mountain at Xianji Temple in Fangzhou erected?"
He answered, saying: "The image was made by Duke Mu of Qin. The place from which the image originally emerged was the site where King Mu of Zhou built a temple. After the Buddha passed away, King Aśoka's fourth daughter made it; she also built an image and a pagoda here to make offerings. At that time, people who had attained the first, second, and third fruits dwelt in this temple. The Qin minister You Yu constantly paid reverence to it. Formerly, in the time of Kāśyapa Buddha, a temple was also established here; it was built by that śrāmaṇera Xianji. His original name was retained to distinguish the temple's plaque."
