Emperor Xiaoming, the Solemn Predecessor of the Wei (taboo name Xu): Attaining oneness, he resided in uprightness; embodying duality, he neighbored the ultimate. Encompassing the three vehicles in which to gallop forth, he strolled leisurely upon the four crossroads. Thereupon, he constructed Dajue Temple in Ye. Its secluded, winding rooms and layered halls rose in irregular succession; wind and squalls blew through its doors and windows, and clouds and mist arose from its eaves and pillars. One saw rare trees intertwined, and fragrant grasses growing in dense profusion. Sudatta's golden ground could barely compare with it, and the Bamboo Grove Monastery could hardly match it.
