Emperor Xiaomin of Zhou (personal name Jue) was brilliant, magnanimous, and deeply discerning; he was open-minded, versatile, and far-sighted. Naturally endowed with divine martial prowess, the people submitted their disputes to him. Holding the golden mirror he occupied the exalted throne; balancing the jade celestial armillary sphere he established the supreme standard. Meeting with decline and loss, the age encountered storms and thunder. The terrestrial net broke its main cords, and the solar disk obscured its radiance. Turmoil swept through the nine regions, striking fear into the hundred spirits. Soon, the astronomical patterns shone bright again, and the imperial pivot was fastened anew. Through wisdom one becomes a sage; knowing the imperceptible is called divine. In the first year of Zhoubao, he broadly propagated the likeness teaching. The renowned and virtuous within the seas admired righteousness and took refuge in benevolence, broadly opening the gates of liberation and profoundly revealing the path of bodhi, desiring that the highest heavens of the peak of existence all receive the cloud of loving-kindness, and that the boundless limits of the earth all bask in the sun of wisdom.
