老子義學天竺（尊釋篇。天竺有古皇先生。即吾師也。善入泥洹。化遊天竺。今已返神還乎無名。絕身滅影不始不終。綿綿若存。吾今遊矣）。

Laozi in principle learned from India. (The chapter 'Honoring the Buddhists' says: 'In India there is the Master of the Ancient Thearch, who is my teacher. He is adept at entering nirvāṇa and wandering transformations in India. Now his spirit has returned to the nameless, having severed the body and extinguished the shadow, without beginning and without end, continuous as if existing. I now journey there.')
