穆王過終北而忘返。自鄙周室之弗如（列子云。周穆王北遊過其國。三年忘返周室慕其國。撇然自失。不進酒肉。不召嬪御。數月乃復。既返周室。鄙嫌周國之治不如北之治也）。

King Mu passed through the Far North and forgot to return, disdaining the house of Zhou as inferior to it. (*Liezi* states: 'King Mu of Zhou journeyed north and passed through that country. For three years he forgot to return to the house of Zhou, yearning for that country. He felt completely lost, did not partake of wine or meat, and did not summon his concubines. Only after several months did he recover. After returning to the house of Zhou, he disdained the governance of the state of Zhou as inferior to that of the North.')
