蓋以出乎慚愧之心而伏乎驕慢之志（不且失節謂之慚。心無非用謂之愧。凡衣食之用。大概要知出處艱難。則有慚愧之心。而降伏乎驕傲怠慢之愚志也）。

This proceeds from a mind of shame and humility and subdues arrogant intentions (not losing integrity is called shame; the mind engaging in no improper purpose is called humility; regarding all use of clothing and food, one must generally know the difficulty of its origin, and then one will have a mind of shame and humility, and subdue foolish intentions of pride and arrogance).
