又得金闕朝元經云。願採優曇華。願燒旃檀香。供養千佛身。稽首禮定光。我生何以晚。泥洹亦何早。不見釋迦文。心中常懊惱（予在北京靈濟宮西北廊畫壁上見一僧座一人禮拜。予問本宮道士。此何也。士曰。此靈濟真君。因中曾禮定光佛為師也）。

Furthermore, I found in the Golden Portal Sūtra on Paying Homage to the Primordial: 'May I gather udumbara flowers; may I burn candana incense; offering to the bodies of the thousand Buddhas, bowing my head to pay homage to Dīpaṃkara. Why was I born so late, and why was his nirvāṇa so early? Not seeing Śākyamuni, my heart is ever grieved.' (On the northwest cloister wall of Lingji Palace in Beijing, I saw a monk seated and a person prostrating. I asked a Taoist of the palace, 'What is this?' The Taoist said, 'This is the True Lord of Lingji; on the causal ground he once took Dīpaṃkara Buddha as his master.')
