興正錄云。周靈王二十一年十一月四日生孔子。年譜云。周二十二主靈王二十一年十一月四日。孔子生於兗州鄹邑平鄉闕黨里（緝事記。靈王在位二十七年庚戌二十一年十一月初四日。時老子五十五歲孔子生於魯國兗州鄹邑平鄉晉昌里。生而有髭。身長九尺六寸。腰大十圍手垂過膝。河目海口。龍顏方顙鳳顒燕領。虎視雷聲有中和之德。衣莊而嚴。色溫而厲。如世家說）。

The Record of Promoting the Right says: "Confucius was born on the fourth day of the eleventh month in the twenty-first year of King Ling of Zhou." The Chronological Record says: "Confucius was born in Quedangli, Ping Township, Zou Village, Yanzhou, on the fourth day of the eleventh month in the twenty-first year of King Ling, the twenty-second lord of Zhou." (The Record of Gathering Events: King Ling was on the throne for twenty-seven years; in the gengxu year, his twenty-first year, on the fourth day of the eleventh month—at which time Laozi was fifty-five years old—Confucius was born in Jinchangli, Ping Township, Zou Village, Yanzhou, in the state of Lu. When born, he had a beard. He was nine chi and six cun tall, his waist ten spans in circumference, and his hands hung past his knees. He had river-like eyes and a sea-like mouth, a dragon face and square forehead, a phoenix-like demeanor and swallow-like neck, a tiger's gaze and a thunderous voice, possessing the virtue of central harmony.
