The monk Amoghavajra states: Palace Commissioner Jiang Tinggui arrived and reverently proclaimed the sacred decree: owing to severe drought, I was ordered to pray for rain, with a limit of seven days to obtain it. Amoghavajra has heard: it is the ruler whose silken words are surely realized; it is the minister who surely obeys when the cords are issued. I prostrate in contemplation that Your Majesty clarifies the four eyes and opens the four ears, dwelling high as Heaven yet listening low, anxious over the crops; you may truly be called the most enlightened sovereign. Having received the heavenly decree, I immediately prepared the arena, where all united their strength and made one their minds, so that Your Majesty's heavenly completion would rely on the bequeathed teachings of the Buddhas. My meager sincerity was earnest in the extreme, and perfect sincerity moves the spirits: without needing the sign of the swallow's dance, the moisture of universal heaven had already descended. Below, it fulfilled the people's hopes; above, it answered the sacred mind. Dancing with hands and feet, I am overjoyed beyond measure. I respectfully present this memorial to offer congratulations and report. The monk Amoghavajra, in true joy and delight, respectfully speaks.
