是無數人悲號啼哭。是時醜人即出其眼置鳩那羅手中。時鳩那羅以手受之向眼說偈。
These countless people wailed and wept aloud. Then the ugly man took out his eye and placed it in Kuṇāla's hand. Kuṇāla received it with his hand and spoke a verse to the eye:
