子猶悲戀鳴啼。相尋至于弶所。東西求索。乃見獵者臥於樹下。鹿母住立。說偈覺言。
The fawns, still sorrowing and longing, crying and bleating, followed behind until they reached the place of the snare. Searching east and west, they saw the hunter lying asleep under a tree. The mother deer stood still and spoke a verse to awaken him:
