8.51

"These men, with a sincere mind desiring to deliver the ten directions, did not spare their bodies and lives; therefore they took the flowers and scattered them as an offering to the Buddha. In their minds they had no thought of reward, yet they have already received the prediction that they will become Buddhas in the future named Sublime Flower." The king was overjoyed, swiftly untied their bonds, repented, and reproached himself: "My foolish mind was inadequate, binding bodhisattvas!" The Buddha said: "Excellent, excellent! One who can reform himself is the same as one without fault." (Drawn from the Scripture on Gathering Flowers, Disobeying the King, Offering to the Buddha, and Receiving the Prediction as Sublime Flower)
