時有繫挾筌蹄小兒。隨從大王啾唧戲笑。有一大臣。咄彼小兒。作如是言。汝小兒輩幸勿唱噭。時小兒報彼臣言。何故不聽我等喧適。爾時大臣即以偈誦答彼一切諸小兒言曰。
At that time there were small boys carrying fish-traps who followed the great king, chattering and laughing in play. A minister scolded the boys, saying, "You boys must not shout and cry out!" The boys answered the minister, "Why do you not allow us to be noisy and merry?" Then the minister answered all the boys with a verse:
