10.54

日光雖極熱猛盛　不能迴彼樹陰涼
復有最妙一尋光　威德世間無有匹
思惟端坐於樹下　不動不搖如須彌
悉達太子內深心　樂此樹陰當不捨

"Though the sun's light is exceedingly hot and fierce,
it cannot turn away the cool shade of that tree;
furthermore, he has a most wondrous fathom-wide radiance,
with majesty and virtue unequalled in the world.
Sitting upright in contemplation beneath the tree,
unmoving and unshaking like Mount Sumeru,
Prince Siddhārtha in his deep heart
finds delight in this tree's shade and will not leave it."
