齊高祖文宣皇帝（登祚受禪。於僧明稠禪師受菩薩戒。畿內斷肉禁酒放鷹除網。又斷天下屠殺。年三月六。勸民齋戒公私薰辛。亦除滅之度人八千）

Emperor Wenxuan, Gaozu of the Northern Qi (upon ascending the throne and receiving the abdication, received the bodhisattva precepts from the meditation master Sengchou; within the capital region he banned meat, prohibited wine, released falcons, and removed hunting nets; he also prohibited slaughter throughout the empire; during the three long months and six fast days, he encouraged the people to observe fasts and precepts, and eradicated all pungent roots both publicly and privately; and he ordained 8,000 people).
