唐幽州漁陽縣無終戍城內有百許家。龍朔二年夏四月。戍城火災門樓及人家屋宇並為煨燼。唯二精舍及浮圖并佛龕上紙簾蘧蒢等。但有佛像獨不延燎。火既不燒巋然獨存。時人見者莫不嗟異。以為佛力支持。中山郎餘令既任彼官。又家兄餘慶交友人。郎將齊郡因如使營州。並親見其事。具為餘令說之。

Inside the Wuzhong garrison town of Yuyang County in Youzhou during the Tang dynasty, there were about a hundred households. In the fourth month of summer in the second year of the Longshuo reign era, a fire broke out in the garrison town; the gate towers and the dwellings of the people were all reduced to ashes. Only two vihāras, a stūpa, and the paper blinds, rush mats, and similar furnishings on the Buddha shrines—wherever there were Buddha statues—alone did not catch fire. Unburned by the flames, they stood towering and solitary. Among the people of the time who saw it, none failed to sigh in wonder, believing it to be upheld by the Buddha's power. Lang Yuling of Zhongshan, having held office there, and an officer from Qi Commandery, an acquaintance of his elder brother Yuqing, who had traveled on a mission to Yingzhou, both personally witnessed this event and related it in full to Yuling.
