宋元嘉二年。劉式之造文殊金像朝夕禮拜。頃之便失。惆悵祈請。夙夜匪懈。經于五年。昏夕時見佛座有光發座至棟。式之因燒香拂拭床帳。乃見失像儼然具存。

In the second year of the Yuanjia reign of the Song, Liu Shizhi made a gold image of Mañjuśrī, paying reverence to it morning and evening. Shortly thereafter, it went missing. He prayed with sorrow and longing, untiring day and night. After five years had passed, at dusk one evening, he saw light emanating from the Buddha seat up to the ridgepole. Shizhi thereupon burned incense and dusted the bed and curtains, whereupon he saw the lost image resting there completely intact.
