19.17

又中阿含經云。爾時世尊告諸比丘。過去世時釋提桓因欲入園觀。時勅御者令嚴駕千馬之車。嚴駕以竟。唯王知時。天帝釋即下常勝殿。東向合掌禮佛。爾時御者見則心驚毛豎馬鞭落地。帝釋見已即說偈言。

The Madhyama Āgama also states: "At that time, the World-Honoured One addressed the bhikṣus: 'In a past age, Śakra, Lord of the Devas, wished to enter a pleasure garden. He then ordered his charioteer to harness a chariot of a thousand horses. The harnessing completed, [the charioteer reported:] "Only the King knows the right time." Śakra, Lord of the Devas, descended from the Palace of Constant Victory, joined his palms facing east, and prostrated to the Buddha. At that time, seeing this, the charioteer's heart was gripped with terror, his hair stood on end, and his whip fell to the ground. Seeing this, Śakra spoke a verse:'
