19.25

佛告諸比丘彼天帝釋為自在王。尚恭敬佛法等。比丘出家學道。亦應如是恭敬於佛。彼天帝釋舍脂之夫敬禮法僧。亦復讚歎禮法僧者。汝等已能正信出家學道。亦當復讚歎禮法僧者。

The Buddha addressed the bhikṣus: "That Śakra, Lord of the Devas, is a sovereign of sovereign power, yet he still reveres the Buddha, Dharma, and so forth. Bhikṣus who have left home to study the Way should also revere the Buddha in this manner. That Śakra, Lord of the Devas, the husband of Śacī, pays homage to the Dharma and Saṃgha, and also praises those who pay homage to the Dharma and Saṃgha. Since you have been able to leave home with correct faith to study the Way, you should also praise those who pay homage to the Dharma and Saṃgha."
