2.97

佛告諸比丘。彼天帝釋為自在王。尚恭敬佛。汝等比丘出家學道。亦應如是恭敬於佛。彼天帝釋舍脂之夫。敬禮法僧亦復讚歎。禮法僧者。汝等已能正信出家學道。亦當如是敬禮法僧。當復讚歎禮法僧者。

The Buddha said to the bhikṣus, "That Śakra, Lord of the Gods, being an autonomous king, still reveres the Buddha. You bhikṣus who have renounced household life to learn the Way ought likewise to revere the Buddha in this way. That Śakra, Lord of the Gods, husband of Śacī, bows in homage to the Dharma and Saṅgha and also praises those who bow in homage to the Dharma and Saṅgha. You who have already been able with correct faith to renounce household life and learn the Way should likewise pay homage to the Dharma and Saṅgha, and should further praise those who pay homage to the Dharma and Saṅgha."
