"Worshipping toward the west means that there are five duties in a wife serving her husband. First, when her husband arrives from outside, she must rise to welcome him. Second, when her husband goes out and is away, she must cook, sweep, and await him. Third, she must not have lustful thoughts toward outsiders; if her husband scolds her, she must not scold back or make an angry face. Fourth, she must follow her husband's admonitions; she must not conceal any household utensils. Fifth, when her husband retires to sleep, she covers him up and only then lies down. A husband caring for his wife also has five duties. First, when entering and leaving, he must respect his wife. Second, he must provide her with food and clothing in a timely manner. Third, he must give her gold, silver, pearls, and jewels. Fourth, he must entrust her with whatever is in the household, whether much or little. Fifth, he must not indulge in keeping maidservants outside."
