先自修行法　然後教餘人
乃可作是言　汝隨我所行
身自行不善　安能令彼善
自不得寂滅　何能令人寂

"First cultivate the Dharma oneself, / And only then instruct other people; / Then one may make this statement: / 'You should follow what I practice.' / If one's own body practices unwholesomeness, / How can one cause others to be good? / If one has not attained tranquility oneself, / How can one cause others to be tranquil?"
