又觀佛三昧經云。時優填王戀慕世尊鑄金為像。聞佛當下寶階。象載金像來迎世尊。爾時金像從象上下。猶如生佛足步虛空。足下雨華。亦放光明。來迎世尊。合掌叉手為佛作禮。

Furthermore, the *Guanfo sanmei jing* says: At that time, King Udayana yearned for the World-Honoured One and cast an image of gold. Hearing that the Buddha was about to descend the jeweled stairs, an elephant carrying the golden image came to welcome the World-Honoured One. At that time, the golden image descended from the elephant, walking in the empty sky just like a living Buddha, flowers raining beneath its feet and emitting light, as it came to welcome the World-Honoured One, joining its palms and clasping its hands in reverence to the Buddha.
